Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on November 18, 1985 in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father, was an ordained pastor in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet elementary school. Felix showed a flair for athletics early on discovering her talent for sprinting during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed third in the 200-meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed high school and signed an agreement for Adidas. In 2004, she was enrolled at the University of Southern California, in the area of elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic Medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics that took place in Athens Greece. She broke an Junior World Record taking 200m in 22.18 seconds. In the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the world's youngest champion for the distance of 200 meters. In 2007, she won the title against her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix competed in the Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three places in all her events.
