Allyson Felix
Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18 the 18th of November, 1985, at Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley as well as Her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed a flair for athletics before she realized her ability to sprint when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first trial, she was with a second-place finish in the 200 meter event in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation by signing a contract as a professional athlete with the athletics company Adidas prior to matriculating at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. The first Olympic medal was at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. Felix set the record of world juniors for the 200m race in 22.18 secs. She became the youngest world champion in the 200 meters in the Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix has consistently placed among the top 3 athletes throughout her events in the Olympics held at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
