With the Squid Game's inaugural Netflix show, Hoyeon, a South Korean model and actress attracted international attention. Hoyeon won an award from the Screen Actors Guild Award in Outstanding Performance of Female Actors in Drama Series. Hoyeon also received an Primetime Emmy Award nomination in Outstanding Supporting Actress In Drama Series. Hoyeon, who is from Myeonmok-dong (a suburb located in Seoul) started her career as an independent model at Seoul Fashion Week 2011. Korean's Next Top Model was her fourth season, and she came out with the title of runner-up. She received her biggest international breakthrough when she landed an exclusive contract worldwide to Louis Vuitton. Since then, she has starred in campaigns and have walked on the runway for designers including Chanel, Fendi, Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, and Moschino just to name a handful.
