Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn (born Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn) is an American actor working in both film, television and theater. An accomplished thespian, she has been performing professionally for over the past 27 years. Her acting debut was on stage in an off-Broadway production The Big Funk by John Patrick Shanley in 1990. Then, in The Perfect Tribute, she had her debut TV role the following year. When she was cast as a back-up role in the movie the film Basic Instinct, her career took off. It was in The Firm however that she was cast as the woman leading the film for just the very first time and that too opposite stars like Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the 90s, she worked alongside some of the top actors in Hollywood, like Gwyneth paltrow and Hugh Grant. She recently played Dr. Alex Blake in the internationally famous crime drama that is a police procedural Criminal Minds.
